For my senior project I want to plan, design, and visually render a metropolitan city, preferably based on the Houston area, that adheres to the new parameters of building and that is more perceptive to the modern world. I’d like to research the planning process, gather the related data, and do everything there is that would allow me to effectively design a sustainable city. There are a number of fields involved in designing a city: Architecture, Engineering, Sociology, Geography, and city planning.

David I think that redesigning Chinquapin or simply modifying it would be amazing. Have you thought about how you would carry out a rebuilding process? Would you just give blueprints of your plans to an engineer or would you actually handle the building process?
ReplyDeleteDavid, I think you have some wonderful ideas but you're way up in the clouds!
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you start small, like you said with Chinquapin. Why not suggest new buildings that maybe the engineers[that the board hires]may build one day?
Take for example a better equipped gym, future dorms for girls, a track field or another dinning place perhaps?
I know you have read a lot of books on the subject over the summer, and i think you may think of new designs that may be the next trend in all schools in the someday?
